Snack: Fruit & Cheese Skewers

Add some fun to snack time with these skewers. Made with cheese, apple and grape tomatoes – get the kids to help by making their own combination.

Ingredients

  • 1-pint grape tomatoes or cherry tomatoes, washed and sliced in half
  • 2 apples, washed and cubed
  • 1 cup block cheese, cubed

About 20-24 toothpicks

Directions for Preparation

  1. Thread a tomato, then a piece of cheese then a piece of apple onto a toothpick.
  2. Serve right away.

To get kids to try new fruits, serve new fruits, alongside familiar fruits to introduce new flavours and textures in a comfortable way.

Do cut grape tomatoes because they are a high risk, coking food for kids up to 5 years of age.
