Main Course: Grilled Meatballs
Servings: 32 Meatballs
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
These are so many ways you can eat these grilled meatballs – stuffed into a bun, rolled in a lettuce wrap or simply served alongside some rice and veggies.
· ·
- 1 cup breadcrumbs or plain oats
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 lbs. ground beef
- 1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
- ½ teaspoons pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup BBQ sauce
Directions for Preparation
- Place the breadcrumbs or oats in a large bowl with the milk. Let them soak for five minutes.
- Add the beef, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Mix well with your hands. Place in the fridge to chill while the grill heats up.
- Once the grill is warm, get the meatballs ready.
- Shape the meatballs into about 32 balls. Place them on 1-2 cookie sheets or cutting boards to easily carry out to the grill.
- If you have a large grill, place the meatballs on a side with the heat turned off, so they can cook without direct flame.
- If you have a small grill, then place the meatballs down onto the grill and then turn down to low.
- Close the lid and let cook on low for 10-15 minutes.
- Flip the meatballs when they no longer stick to the grill. If they stick, they need to cook a few minutes longer.
- Cook for another 15 minutes. Brush with sauce, turn off the heat and close the lid for 5 minutes to let the sauce set.
