The best part of this dish is the top layer of melted cheese that has the perfect golden-brown crunch.
- 1 package dry spaghetti noodles (about 500 grams)
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, chopped or 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 green peppers, chopped or 2 carrots, grated
- 1-pound lean ground meat
- 2 cans (around 680 mL) spaghetti sauce
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheese
Directions for Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350° F. Grease two large baking dishes.
- Bring a large pot of water to boil and cook the spaghetti noodles according to the package directions.
- In a large saucepan, fry the vegetables, the garlic and the ground meat stirring often.
- Once the pasta is cooked, drain and place equal amounts into each baking dish.
- Stir in the spaghetti sauce to ground meat mixture until combined.
- Top the spaghetti noodles with the meat auce followed by the grated cheese.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until the cheese is golden brown and bubbling.
