Ingredients
This no-bake recipe uses powdered milk and evaporated milk to create soft, fudgey cookies that are perfect with tea.
- 3 tablespoons butter
- ½ can or 150 mL sweet, condensed milk
- ¼ cup warm milk, preferably evaporated milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup milk powder, preferably full fat
- ¼ cup slivered or sliced almonds (optional)
Directions for Preparation
Easy directions
- On low heat, add 2 tablespoons of butter in a medium non-stick pan.
- Add the condensed milk, the warm milk and the vanilla. Mix well.
- Once combined, slowly stir in the milk powder until smooth.
- Stir continuously until the mixture thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan.
- Add the last tablespoon of butter. Keep stirring until the mixture separates from pan and forms a dough that holds its shape. Remove from the heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
- Knead the warm dough until it is smooth.
- Grease your hands with butter, take a tablespoon of dough, roll it into a small ball then slightly press at the center to form a cookie.
- Top with almonds, optional. Place the finished cookies on a plate covered with plastic wrap in the fridge to set. The cookies should not be touching.
- The cookies can be stored up to a week in the fridge.
