Ingredients
Sweet, salty, silly and easy—these mummy pretzels are really all you can ask for in a Halloween treat.
· About 25 – 30 mini pretzels or unbroken, small plain chips
· ¾ cup chocolate chips, use white chocolate chips if available
· 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
· candy eyeballs or mini m & m’s
Directions for Preparation
- Lay the pretzels or plain chips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
- Place 1/2 cup of the chocolate chips in a microwave – safe bowl along with 1/2 tsp vegetable oil.
- Microwave for 1 minute. Let sit in the microwave for 1 minute. Stir gently, then if not smooth, return to the microwave for 15 – 30 seconds.
- Working quickly, dip each pretzel into the bowl of chocolate, gently tapping the edge of the bowl to release extra chocolate.
- Lay the covered pretzel down on a piece of wax paper. Place candy eyeballs or mini M& M’s into the top 2 holes in the pretzel. Let cool until solid.
- Place the remaining 1/4 cup chocolate chips in a small baggie along with ½ teaspoon oil. Microwave for 45 seconds, or until warm and soft. Move the chocolate around so the oil is mixed in.
- Using scissors, snip off a little off the corner of the baggie. It should be a small snip.
- Pipe chocolate onto the top of each coated pretzel in lines, criss-crossing the entire “face” going around each eye. Let cool until hard.
- Store in the fridge.
