Main Course: Marry Me Chicken

Ingredients

It’s called Marry Me Chicken because the person you make it for will want to marry you after they taste it! Serve it with pasta or rice to soak up the creamy, tomatoey delicious sauce.

  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 8 chicken thighs or drumsticks, skin removed
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped or ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 can (284 mL) cream chicken or cream mushroom soup
  • 1 can (284 mL) tomato soup
  • 1 tomato chopped
  • ¼ cup shredded cheese or ¼ cup cream cheese
  • Chili flakes, optional

    

Directions for Preparation

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large saucepan. Brown the chicken. Remove from the pan.
  2. In the same pan, fry the onions and garlic until the onions are golden brown.
  3. Add the canned soups. Add 1 empty can of water.
  4. Bring up to a boil and place the chicken along with the chopped tomato back into the pan.
  5. Cook, covered with a lid on a low boil for 30 minutes.
  6. Stir in the cheese and serve.
