Main Course: Homemade Cheesburger Macaroni

Ingredients

Is there anything better than cheesy, saucy, meaty pasta? Here is a 1-pot meal that is true comfort food at its finest.

  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1-pound lean ground meat
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped or ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 carrots, grated
  • 2-3 cups water
  • 3 cups tomato pasta sauce
  • 1 package (about 400 grams) macaroni noodles
  • 1-3 teaspoons Italian seasoning, adjust to your taste
  • 1¼ cup shredded cheese
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese
  • Chili flakes, optional

Directions for Preparation

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot.  Brown the meat and vegetables until the meat is browned.
  2. Add 2 cups water and the tomato sauce, cover with a lid, and bring up to a boil.
  3. Stir in the macaroni noodles. Turn down the heat to a low boil.
  4. Cook for about 15 minutes or until the pasta is cooked. Stir often and If needed, add more water.
  5. It is done when the sauce should all be absorbed into the noodles and the noodles are done.
  6. Turn off the heat and stir in the cheese. Serve.
